Patricia Kluge won a divorce settlement in 1990 (or thereabout) worth more than $100 million. She declared personal bankruptcy in June 2011. Donald Trump has been buying many parts of her Virginia estate and winery. Trump has not yet obtained her mansion- “a 24,000 square-foot neo-Georgian palace with 45 rooms, a spa, home theater, 3,500-bottle wine cellar, and 2,000 square-foot sitting room”. However, Trump has purchased the 200 acre front yard, as well as most of the driveway and the backyard. Bank of America is in the process of foreclosing and is trying to sell the home for $16 million. The house still has 95 acres and access rights to the driveway, but still, that’s a lot of money for a relatively land-locked house. (See the full story in The Wall Street Journal).
